Life as I knew it was interrupted abruptly by my Devastating Diagnosis. Albeit brief, in the scheme of life–I was forced to consider my mortality after reading the words “premature death”. Things that once seemed important were no longer important as I sought refuge in the LOVE of family and friends.
Life quickly offered distinctions between Life before Diagnosis AND Life after Diagnosis. Before my diagnosis I was in high demand and had an unending list of ‘Things to Do.’ After coming to terms with my diagnosis (after Surgery), I am forced to deal with my need to be in control and schedule my life according to what I am able to DO.
